LEVEL 101

In just ten weeks, this class will cover basic skills used in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint including understanding where to save and how to find your files, basic elements of the ribbon and tool bars, and simple composition in each application. This is an ideal class for beginners to get a taste of Microsoft apps before continuing on to other classes.

Level 101 classes are designed for students who have already tried out  learning in a virtual classroom over Zoom. We expect that you have an email address and know how to send and receive email. CORE has Level 00 classes where you can learn and practice these important skills. Please look for emails from Computer CORE about an orientation session to confirm your readiness for this class. Intro to Google Workspace (M, 7:15 - 8:15 pm)

LEVEL 101

Students cover the basics of Google Workspace: setting up professional email for those without email, signing in and out of a Google account and navigating to commonly used applications like Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs. Google Calendar, and Google Slides. The differences and similarities between Google and Microsoft Office products will be explained. Students will also learn to collaborate with others, identify the design features of Google Drive, create, upload, save and share documents, files, and folders. A working knowledge of the most common applications, basic purpose of the applications, capacities, and limitations will be developed by students.

Level 101 classes are designed for students who have already tried out  learning in a virtual classroom over Zoom. We expect that you have an email address and know how to send and receive email. This class helps students build self-confidence; practice resume writing and practice mock interviews. Learn how to give your own "elevator speech." Resume writing is more than just having a paper document; learn how to brag about yourself; learn how to discuss your skills and your faults; your confidence is a competitive advantage when you are interviewing.

Level 00 classes are designed for students who are ready to begin learning in a virtual classroom over Zoom.
