The objectives of the course will be the following:

  3. Download an Open Source tool called SQL Lite Studio.
  4. Define data
  5. Identify types of data
  6. Organize data
  7. Define a data base
  8. Data relationships
  9. Retrieve data stored in a database
  10. Allow students to have their own data base on their computers.
  11. Basic SQL commands including, but not limited to:

a. Build a simple data table

b. Select

c. Connect tables (joins)

d. Basic math

e. Conditional logic

f. Detail and Summary results

Prerequisites:

  • Windows Computer (No phones or tablets) 
  • Previous 100 level course. Previous 200 level course is preferred

The Typing class utilizes the interactive platform typingclub.com to enhance students' typing skills. Focusing on keyboard familiarity, typing techniques, speed building, and accuracy enhancement, the class offers a practical and engaging learning experience. Students track progress, enjoy adaptive learning, and apply their skills to real-world scenarios. By the end, participants will have improved their typing proficiency for both personal and professional use.

English Writing (need to understand spoken English)

English writing and composition for business and further education. Improve your memos and letters. Use proper email etiquette. Develop compelling information for your resume. Learn basic grammatical rules and spelling. Acquire and practice English vocabulary. Build confidence as you prepare yourself for college composition.

Level 00 classes are designed for students who are ready to begin learning in a virtual classroom over Zoom. You should have an email address and look for emails from Computer CORE about an orientation session to get you ready. We intend to hold an Excel Level 2 class in Winter 2024 pending teacher availability. Put your name here to indicate your interest. This class requires instructor approval that your skills are at the right level for this class.

LEVEL 201

Excel Level II builds on the skills and concepts of Level I. Students enhance fundamental skills and concepts aligned with Northstar Digital Literacy curriculum standards. Students enrolled in this intermediate-level course will learn how to manage more complex workbooks, charts and formulas, and functions. Students will move beyond identifying cells, utilizing auto fill and auto sum options onto Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts.
